More Than a Photographer: A Letter to My Couples
From the very first message you send, I begin to see the outlines of your story. Two people, a thousand little moments, a day waiting to unfold like the first page of a favorite book.
On your wedding day, I’m not only there to capture the laughter and happy tears. I’m there to help pin boutonnieres, calm nerves, carry your bouquet, bustle your dress, and cheer you on as you step into a new chapter together.
And then, as the last song drifts into the night and your guests wave sparklers beneath a sky full of stars, I pack up slowly. It often feels less like work and more like saying goodbye to dear friends. There’s always a touch of bittersweet as I pack up my gear — grateful for the memories we’ve made, wishing I could stay just a little longer in the glow of your celebration.
I leave feeling grateful for every hug, every inside joke, every fleeting second I got to capture. Even as I head home, I can’t help but think: I hope this isn’t the end of our story together.
And often, it isn’t. Love has a way of circling back. Months, even years later, I may meet you again in a sunlit field, your hands resting on a growing belly, or see you chasing a giggling toddler across golden grass. To witness your love stretching outward — to be invited to tell the story again and again — is one of life’s quiet miracles.
It is some of my most treasured work when couples come back throughout the years— for maternity photos, family portraits, anniversaries, or simply to celebrate life as it is now. Watching your love deepen, meeting your babies, or seeing how you’ve grown together is a privilege that fills my heart every single time.
I care about you. I want you to feel comfortable, seen, and celebrated — from our first conversation to the last sparkler fading at the end of the night, and hopefully long after.
If you are searching for someone to photograph your wedding, know that I don’t simply take pictures. I gather up fragments of your joy, your tenderness, your laughter, and craft them into heirlooms for the people you’ll become.
My hope is that the images we create together will outlive trends and seasons — that they will remind you, decades from now, how it felt to promise forever. And if I’m lucky, I’ll be there for every chapter that follows, camera in hand, heart wide open.
Here’s to the chapters still unwritten.
With love & gratitude,
Bree <3
